Straight from me!

Just posting to wish everyone a happy Easter!! Hope your Easter is as good as mine and you don’t get sick from all the candy!

Sping Break officaly begins today for me! As a result of this I will be working on a couple new things to release after or durring spring break so stay tuned!

Basically what this is a poem that I had to do as an assignment for poetry class. The assignment was to create a narrative  poem that took a news article and retold the story not by telling but showing (suppose to invoke emotion unlike the news article does.)  So thats the assignment as simple as I can put it but there was some more to it but oh well here is the poem and tell me what you think:

A tall slender man rose from the chair,

His brows were thick and his face stern,

Upon a panel he worked with care

Not even feeling the breeze in his hair.

The sun was high and blood sugar low,

Anticipation, built for the rocket far off,

A device wailed, and inside quaked his soul;

Sparks lit around, while not seen was lift off.

In the control room arose the flame

A snake coiled around the worker’s breath,

A malfunction was this fire’s blame

And now he was surrounded by death.

The stern man arose to fight the snake,

He rushed to the switch upon the wall,

His flight, immune to this quake 

The lever pulled, down came the water maul.

The maul fell, striking its wrath,

Slithering on was the snake through the fog

Until it was hit by the maul’s rage bath;

Dead was the beast, only remained smog.

The stern man crawled to the panel,

Struggling, he pulled himself on the chair,

The error was found, while sweat ran his flannel,

From one key stroke fixed, that caused the flare.

The night fell, silence engulfed the land,

A light turned on, slowly creeping up

The great rocket showed in the sand,

Ahmadinejadsaid said, show its stuff.

Rising higher, higher into the sky,

While the empire watched their flight

The rocket reached orbit with its cry,

The stern man announced to the land, their new might.

* Note my poem was over the Iranian Satellite Launch and there isn’t much plot line to that so I made up the fire *
